After the interest Bayern Munich have shown in striker Roy Makaay, another
German topclub is after one of the Deportivo players. This time it concerns
midfielder Jaime Sanchez (30-years old). Last season the former Real Madrid
player was loaned out to German club Hannover’96. And he made such an
impression that Hannover would like to have him back, while Stuttgart also want
them in their squad.

Stuttgart finished on the second spot in the Bundesliga last season and this
means they will play Champions League football next season. To strengthen their
team they would like to know whether Deportivo are interested in selling or
loaning out the midfielder. But staying at Deportivo is also still an option as
Irureta has mentioned the names of Jaime and Pandiani as possible newcomers in
the squad for next season.

Q: What’s your opinion about the words of Irureta?

A: It’s always satisfying to hear the coach talking in a positive way about
me. Besides, since my loan out it’s the first time he shows recognition to my
work. I thank him for it although I keep being realistic. I shouldn’t be too
positive about it because it could mean nothing.

Q: So you don’t see yourself as Deportivo player next season?

A: I always see myself in the Deportivo squad. I have a contract and my first
option is to stay there. But despite all the words, I will have to deliver good
work.

Q: Where do you think you will be within two weeks? With Deportivo at Vilalba
or loaned out to another team?

A: Well, I assume that I will be at Vilalba. But when I am there anything can
happen. Maybe I will have to leave again.

Q: If you must leave again, would you prefer a loan out or transfer?

A: I should consider the case at that certain moment. The ideal solution would
be one which would benefit both parts. If the coach doesn’t want me in the
squad, I expect the club to help me to find a solution like last year.

Q: Have you talked to Deportivo after returning home from Germany?

A: (laughing) I think that the club should talk to me, not me with them! But
serious now, I have been at the club arranging some things. But people of the
board haven’t told me anything.

Q: What about your German experience?

A: It has been sensational. I got adapted very quickly because the people
treated me nicely and I think I delivered some good work.

Q: And Hannover want you back.

A: Yes, and that makes me proud. When a professional player has opportunities
to demonstrate something, normally things go well.

Q: Would you like to return?

A: I repeat that my first option is to stay at Deportivo. But if that’s not
possible, I wouldn’t mind returning to Germany.

Q: What was the reason that Jose Manuel and Fernando didn’t do well at
Hannover?

A: Because they didn’t have opportunities nor luck. They are great players,
but them lacked that luck necessary to succeed. If they would have had luck,
for sure they would have triumphed like me.
