Joakim Noah, the Florida forward who worked out for the Bulls last week, told
ESPN.com that he has been ''75 percent'' since he tore his right rotator cuff
in the Gators' SEC title-clinching victory over South Carolina on Feb. 21.
All interested NBA teams have reviewed the MRI exam of the injury that was
taken after the season. Noah said doctors at Florida told him surgery was not
necessary.
''All of them had seen the MRI and saw there was a problem with it,'' Noah
told ESPN.com. ''But all 30 of them came in [to the predraft camp in Orlando,
Fla.] and said, 'Does this hurt?' They kept pushing on it, and by the 16th or
17th one, I was like, 'OK, it's sore.'
''It's something that has been bothering me for a while. I was getting a lot
of [pain-killing] shots in my butt, and when you're playing in a game, all of
the adrenaline was pumping at that time of the year, and I didn't think there
was time to sit out.
''I'm going through the workouts and taking contact. I don't feel 100
percent, and if I don't get picked where I think I should, it won't be
because I didn't try. I understand this is a business. But give me four or
five weeks with my new team, and I'll do the rehab and be fine.''
