Islam Feruz has cancelled his contract with Russian club Krylia Sovetov
Samara.

Chelsea have plenty of young, talented players in their youth team - and
they have too many. That has meant plenty of them being sent out on loan
over the last few years and one of their most talented was supposed to do
the same this summer.


Islam Feruz, a Scottish youth international arrived in Russia on Friday to
finalise a move to Russian second division side Krylia Sovetov. He was
even snapped in his new club's training gear.

Feruz is something of a controversial and mercurial character, and has
been compared to Brazilian legend Romario, but there is no doubt he is a
magnificent talent destined for good things in the game.


But his move to Russia now looks like being a blip in his short career.
Because just two days later Feruz is back in London. He released this
statement on his return earlier this evening, confirming he had returned
to London after just 48 hours in Samara:

fans who had hoped that I can help the team get back to the Premier
League. But I want to explain the reasons for his action, and hope that

"A few days in Russia, I realized that I was not yet ready for such a
dramatic turn in my life, what could be the move to Samara. I have no

were extremely hospitable, nor to the fans, with which I had a chance to
talk. But I still do not feel very comfortable, and I think this feeling
would not allow me to open up on the football field.

one hundred percent surrendering football. Maybe then I'll regret the
decision taken now, but now I'm doing the right thing. I sincerely wish
the success of "Wings" and local fans and very much hope that my departure
will not hurt the team on the way to victory."

"當初來到英格蘭也適應得非常困難，現在我沒有餘力再次適應新的國家和足球，也
