Roger Federer warned Novak Djokovic he could get ‘caught up in the pressure’
at the US Open after ending his two-year wait for a Grand Slam title at
Wimbledon.
費德勒對喬科維奇提出警告，指喬帥在終結二年的大滿貫冠軍荒之後，本屆美網恐將身陷
龐大壓力之中。

The Serb ended Federer and Rafael Nadal’s streak of winning six majors on
the spin, following a turbulent period where he was plagued by an elbow
injury and a dramatic loss in form.
喬帥克服手肘傷勢和低潮，中止費納連續包辦近六個大滿貫的情況。

Djokovic’s 13th Slam title has set up an intriguing US Open at the end of
August – one Federer believes will be ‘epic’.
喬帥回歸後，費德勒相信今年美網將會是經典戰役。

But he began the mind games with one of his great rivals by suggesting there
may now be even more pressure on him to deliver after clinching a fourth
title at the All England Club.
但費德勒同時也對這位長期交戰的對手展開心戰攻勢，指喬帥在贏下第四座溫布頓後，
恐挾著更多壓力進軍美網。

Ahead of his first match in Cincinnati, Federer said: ‘Novak can play with
less pressure again I guess, to some extent, but you can always get caught up
in the pressure, the media saying “well clearly now you’re going to win the
US Open”, and you’re like “Well, I guess so, yes”.

‘And then rather than you being able to say “Well, we’ll see what happens”
, perspective changes from your side but also from the media.
在辛辛那提賽前，費德勒稱：在某種程度上，諾瓦克能夠放鬆些打，但是會一直身陷在巨
大壓力之中，特別是當媒體對你說「你將贏得美網冠軍」的時候，你可能就回答「我想
也是」，而不是「看看到時候的發展。」，進而自己的心態將會有所改變。

‘But definitely exciting times, a lot of the best players are back in the
game and I think the US Open is going to be epic.’
費德勒：很多優秀的好手都將齊聚美網，本屆賽事將會非常經典。

Federer admitted he was ‘happy’ to see Djokovic come through the other side
after a difficult spell and claimed any return to glory after a long layoff
was ‘more beautiful’.
費德勒表示他對於喬帥克服困難重返榮耀感到開心。

‘Novak winning Wimbledon obviously that was massive, I don’t think he
expected it,’ he added.
他再補充：很明顯地，諾瓦克在溫布頓取得巨大的勝利，我不認為他曾想過自己會贏。

‘I remember the press conference he gave after [losing to Marco Cecchinato
in] Paris when he was like “I don’t know yet I was frustrated, I just want
to get out of here”.
我記得他在法網輸球後的記者會上，他看起來十分挫敗，他像是只想逃離那裏。

‘And people were asking him “What, you’re not going to play the grass?”
And then he should have won Queens and goes on to win Wimbledon, so things
can turn very quickly, regardless if you’re positive or not, sometimes when
you just put yourself out there and then you get excited in a quarters or
semis of a Slam you can start playing your best tennis.
人們還質疑他「什麼，你跳過草地賽季不打？」，然而最終他贏下溫布頓，所以事情可以
變化得非常快，取決態度是否正向。

‘I thought it was great for the sport, I’m happy for him because I know it
probably it hasn’t been easy the last couple of years for him but then again
I don’t think anybody should be feeling sorry for him, like people feeling
sorry for me or Rafa, we’ve had so much success that it’s just more
beautiful when you do come back after a tough time.’
我為他感到開心，我知道這幾年對他來說並不容易，但我認為任何人都不須替他感到可惜
，對我或拉法也是，我們已經贏下那麼多的勝利，我們東山再起的故事會更添輝煌。

Djokovic got off to a winning start in Cincinnati, beating Steve Johnson 6-4
7-6 (7-4) to set up a second-round tie with Adrian Mannarino.

Federer, meanwhile, will begin against Germany’s Peter Gojowczyk having
enjoyed a first-round bye.
