The Wigan chairman has rejected a series of summer long bids from Stamford
Bridge for Moses, and told ESPN on Friday: "Roberto [Martinez] and I both
think that they have left it to see how Victor does against them on Sunday.

"Victor is up against the best left-back in the Premier League [Ashley
Cole] and if he takes him on and plays well, then we shall have to weigh
things up as much as I have no doubt Chelsea will weigh things up.

趁機加價。"


"It is not one-sided you know, Chelsea have been chasing him all summer
but not come up with an acceptable bid, but if he comes up with a goal or
two on Sunday who's to say his value won't go up by a couple of million!"

進個一兩球，說不定可以增值個幾百萬喔！"


Whelan doubts whether Chelsea think the best policy is to wait to take
Moses in a year though and added: "His contract is up but he is not a free
transfer, as we shall be entitled to compensation and the tribunal would
be aware of what has been offered for him."

"雖然他明年夏天合約就滿了，但可不是免費轉會，會有一筆養育金，而金額可視當
初的出價而增減。"


Later there was laughter around the Chelsea press conference in Cobham as
Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo refused to be drawn on his team's
transfer policy but was still asked about what exact threat Moses offers.

"He is a player of Wigan football club so I don't want to give too much
away about other players," he said. "He's a young talented guy... that
plays for Wigan. We know his ability... that's a question for Roberto
Martinez, whether he's going to play [on Sunday] or not."


Di Matteo did concede, however, that Chelsea won't be held to ransom for
anyone, claiming: "We are not going to pay over the top. We pay what we
think is the real value for the player."

And Latics boss Martinez says his club will not cave in over a player
bought from Crystal Palace in January 2010 for ￡2.5m.

“Victor's 21, he's got a year left on his contract and my chairman is
always very clear,” he said.“We would rather have Victor for a year
rather than selling him under his value. We don't have to sell players, so
we will never undervalue players.

"維克托21歲，雖然合約只剩一年，但主席大人頭腦很清楚，寧願等明年合約到期也
不會賤賣摩西斯，我們不需要賣球員，所以也不會低估球員的價值。"


“We will never stand in the way of players who want to move on to other
projects - let's say a player who can move on and try and win the Premier
League - but in football, and in life in general, if you want something,
you have to meet the valuation.

"我們絕不會阻止球員出走，球員都可以走的，但足壇的規矩就是，轉會費要夠。"


“Until that happens, it's not an issue.


“Remember, we made a huge investment in Victor when he was 19 and in the
Championship, which other clubs wouldn't. We will never undervalue one of
the biggest talents in this league. Clubs must respect that.”

Martinez is confident Moses will be fully committed to Wigan's cause in
Sunday's match, even though he could become a Chelsea player within hours
of the final whistle.

“From Victor's point of view, he's fit and available and if anyone can
cope with anything from a mental point of view then it's Victor,” said
the Spaniard.

“When he came from Crystal Palace at the age of 19, he was desperate
straight away to play - I have never seen such a mature young man. Victor
is a strong man who has been through many things in his life already. He
loves the game and once he gets on the pitch, the world stops for him.”

的真男人，他超愛比賽，只要踏上草皮就一夫當關。"
