Blackman bound for the Blades

Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has extended his Chelsea contract until 2021 and
will be spending the coming season on loan at Sheffield United.


Our signing of Willy Caballero increased our number of experienced
first-team goalkeepers to three, allowing Blackman the opportunity to
further his experience in the Championship.


The tall 23-year-old enjoyed an especially good year on loan last season
at Wycombe Wanderers, for whom he appeared 52 times and was named their
Young Player of the Year, and now he has the chance to develop his game at
a higher level.


Blackman lifted the FA Youth Cup and the Under-21 Premier League trophies
with our Academy sides.
