LOS ANGELES - They will play these NBA Finals to a conclusion. The games will
continue until either the Celtics [team stats] or Lakers win four times.

誰贏四場,誰就是冠軍

But if we’re here to decide which is the better team, well, I think we know
that by now.

This is based not on the indisputable truth that the Celtics have a 2-1
series lead, although that certainly tends to help the argument, eh? This is
more a qualitative judgment. You see what you see, and it has become clear
that if both teams play to their full capabilities, the Celts will prevail.

They have a better defense and a stronger inside game and more than enough to
counteract the best player in the series, Kobe Bryant. There may have been
some serious doubts about the Celts coming into the Finals, and they were not

get here, and their two regular-season wins over Los Angles were devalued
because they came pre-Pau Gasol.

There was logic to the position that the Lakers would win, and the belief

For while the Celtics are the better team in the Finals, they are not a
perfect team. They have only themselves to blame for not taking Game 3 when
the Lakers were offering it on a purple and gold platter. Had they simply
been more patient and pounded the soft LA underbelly, we would have been
commissioning a 17th green and white banner for the Celts and a toe tag for
the Lakers.

超賽不是一支完美的球隊，但是在總冠軍賽是支比較好的球隊。在客場，他們只怪自己為
何沒能拿下G3的勝利。為了拿下第十七座冠軍，他們要更有耐心的在客場作戰

“I thought a lot of it came down to making the big plays, the tougher plays,
the last five minutes of the game,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said before
practice yesterday.

And as we’ve learned by now, when the going gets tough, the Celtics often
get stupid. After watching Leon Powe and Kendrick Perkins [stats] have
success inside against LA, we have reached the point where Celtic Nation sees
Kevin Garnett a few hundred yards from the rim and rises in unison to shout,
“Get thee to the paint.”

If he does, the Lakers cannot cope. If he does, this series doesn’t fly back
to Boston. There is too much good that happens when Garnett is inside, and
much of it has nothing to do with him scoring, although it would be nice to
see him trot out that brilliant up-and-under move he uses about as often as
the good china. KG on the low block means a longer distance for the Laker
defense to travel in its rotations. It means open jumpers for people like
Paul Pierce [stats] and Ray Allen. It means points.

“Hell, if I knew that, I would have done it,” he said after shooting
6-for-21, mainly on jumpers. “Obviously in the course of a game you try to
mix things up. I know I do. I’ve got Pau on me. He’s very long. It’s not
like he’s easy when it comes to being a defender. Tried to give him
different looks and tried to mix some things up is what I’m basically trying
to do. But for the most part, I watched this game. It’s not one of my better
offensive games, and I’ll make adjustments accordingly. But you’re right, I
probably do need to take the ball to the basket a little more.”

KG: 如果我知道，我就會這麼做了。我還得防守Paul，雖然他很長(西斯了…)。

The Celtics still feel good enough about their position. They still believe
these Finals are theirs to win. This is still in their control.

“It always has been,” Ray Allen said. “But winning two games at home wasn’
t good enough. We knew that. Coming out here, we have to win. We just have to
play a good brand of basketball.”
