"I am a bit upset because of all the opportunities I had to win," said
Acasuso. "I think Tommy hung in there pretty well, but I made too many
mistakes.

"Despite today's loss I am happy with the three past weeks in which I made
one final and two semi-finals. I started well in Vina del Mar and that gave
me some confidence for the rest of the Latin American clay court swing."

"I was a bit tight in the beginning of the match but after I broke him to
level the match at 5-5 I started playing better," said Monaco. "I'm feeling
good. I love this tournament and it would be fantastic to win the title in
front of my home crowd for a second time."

"I had my opportunities to close out the match in the second set. But the
truth is Monaco played a good match and deserved to win. I hope he can win
the title in Buenos Aires," said Nalbandian. "I had some fever during the
week but I am happy for leaving everything on the court and giving a shot at
winning Buenos Aires for a second time."
