Spezia manager Luca Gotti reveals: "Chelsea asked me to play Ethan Ampadu
as centre-back. They asked for it as they see Ampadu returning there in
one year and play as centre-back in the future. We'll discuss about it
again."

This happened for years with Chalobah but in reverse, everyone played him
in MF but his highest ceiling always seemed to be at CB. With Ampadu, his
best showings have come for Wales in a midfield role and it'd be a
surprise if that wasn't eventually the case in the club game.
