JACK WILSHERE is a phenomenon, according to his Arsenal skipper.
England whizkid Wilshere, 19, more than held his own against Barcelona
masters Xavi and Andres Iniesta on Wednesday night.
And Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas said: "Jack is a phenomenon, he already
looks a world-class star.
"He's a great lad too, with an English heart but with Spanish quality.
"It's difficult to compare him to someone, but he reminds me of myself a lot.
"When I started the boss put his trust in me more and more.
"Now he's a regular starter at the heart of our midfield.
"He started at just 17. He trains hard and gives everything and has earned
his place in the starting line-up."
Wilshere left the Emirates on Wednesday with TWO Barcelona shirts as
souvenirs - from Lionel Messi and his hero Xavi - after the Gunners'
sensational comeback win.
The teenager revealed: "I have been watching players like Xavi and Messi for
years now.
"This is by far the biggest night of my Arsenal career so far.
"We play a similar style to Barcelona and that's the kind of football I like
to play.
"Staying patient was vital. We know Barcelona can keep the ball and we were
chasing them for the first 20 minutes of the first half.
"We knew we had to keep our shape and hit them on the counter-attack and push
up hard in the second half - and we got the win."
