Cardinals to unveil former catcher Mike Matheny as manager on Monday at Busch

Former Major League catcher Mike Matheny has been named Cardinals manager,
the club announced Sunday evening.

He will be introduced at a Busch Stadium news conference on Monday at 11 a.m.
CT.

Matheny, 41, played in the Majors from 1994-2006 with the Brewers, Blue Jays,
Cardinals and Giants. He spent five seasons in St. Louis, from 2000-04,
hitting .245 and winning the Gold Glove Award behind the plate in 2003 and
'04.
