Agassi Wastes Little Time Reaching Quarterfinals

Top seeded American has won first and second round match in a combined
98 minutes, while Mardy Fish has reached his first ATP quarterfinal on
clay.

Top seed Andre Agassi needed only 51 minutes to beat Irakli Labadze 6-0,
6-2, and advance to the quarterfinals of the US Men's Clay Court
Championships. With the win, Agassi improved his match record to an
ATP-best 20-1 on the year.

Six days away from his 33rd birthday, Agassi has lost a total of four
games and only been on court just a little over an hour and a half in
two dominating performances. He defeated Zeljko Krajan, 6-2, 6-0 in 47
minutes in his opening round match.

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID:

Agassi: "Some days just go like that. He's a flashy player and he doesn't
have much patience for working the point. The last time we played (in
Shanghai) in 2001 he was hitting the ball better than I was and he didn't
miss much. He was missing because I was taking more time on my shots and
making him make errors and press."

"I've had some great starts and for me this year it's been a major
accomplishment and I feel even more motivated by it and to continue to
do well."
