Chelsea's Thorgan Hazard wins Belgian Player of the Year during loan spell
with Zulte Waregem

Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard has won the Belgium Player of the Year
award for his performances for Zulte Waregem.


The 21-year-old, who is the brother of Blues winger Eden, is currently on
a short-term deal with Zulte in his homeland, and has had his fine form
recognised.


Hazard's performances have reportedly attracted the attentions of Everton,
who are keen to take him on loan next season.


Despite being highly-rated at Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho is unlikely
to be able to offer Hazard first-team football, and a switch to Goodison
Park could be in the offing, according to The Metro.


Hazard netted 16 goals in 43 appearances in Belgium last season.

The Belgian professional football awards is a collection of awards given
at the end of each season since 1983. Back then, the only award was the
Manager of the Year. There are now 4 awards: Footballer, Goalkeeper,
Manager and Referee. The previous fifth award, the Young Footballer of the
Year Award, has no longer been handed out since 2008. The voters are all
the players from the Belgian Pro League as well as the Belgian footballers
playing abroad at the highest level. The ceremony is organized together by
the paper Sport Foot Magazine and the Belgian Football Association.
