這是BBC跟我之間mail往來, 有關於中華台北跟中國的事宜, 有興趣的網友可以看一看.
我在6/29對BBC投訴, 關於他們在溫布頓實況轉播中把中華台北跟中國選手拿來比較的事
情. 另外也順便投訴他們在多月前的一個節目, 在那個節目中主持人說 “台灣跟中國經
濟上獨立計算, 但是在官方上台灣還是中國的一部份.
以下是我抱怨的全文:

BBC kept mixing these 2 countries up and it's clearly unacceptable. We all
know they do have an issue, so that BBC as a powerful and influencial media
broadcasting to every corner in this world needs more efforts to address the
news or programmes more objectively.
Here are two obvious mistakes:
1. The countries on Tropic of Cancer
In the news the host said 'Officially, Taiwan is part of China'. I'm not sure
which official resource says that though. But as a place has own goverment,
citizen and land, it's hard to see how this place could be part of another
place.
2. The live of the match in Wimbledon, Yen-Hsun LU versus Andy RODDICK.
The commentator compared Lu with 'another Chinese player' suggesting a
relationship between them. It needs to be clarified. HE IS A TAIWANESE PLAYER.
It's complicated between China and Taiwan. It' s complicated why Lu's
nationality is registered as Chinese Taipei instead of Taiwan. BBC maybe
stands in an embarrassing position as well but, please dont make mistake
about Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) and China, please call those ppl from Taiwan
'TAIWANESE', not 'Chinese'.
Voice from minority may be weaker but doesnt mean it could be neglected.
Showing respect to others mean showing to ourselves. So the Taiwanese all
over the world are making their efforts to show our prides and glories. Like
when Lu's interviewed after match, he said he's lucky so he could make
everybody see him making efforts for Taiwan, but there're still thousands of
ppl scattere in this world doing what they can do, even though it's not seen.
Like British proud of Murray and Great Britain and dont want other people mix
them up with America. We're proud of Lu and our countries, Taiwan.

首先BBC搞錯, 我只是希望他們不要將Chinese Taipei跟China 連上關係, 他們以為我想
要正名為Lu is from Taiwan.
第二BBC說求証之後確定他們的政府機關裡認為Chinese Taipei是支援北京的單位, 另外
的確在政府機關裡 (官方) 認為台灣是中國一部分.

Thanks for contacting us.
We understand that you felt Yen-Hsun Lu was incorrectly referred to as being
from "China" and "Chinese Taipei" and not Taiwan during our ‘Wimbledon’
coverage on 28 June.
After checking with the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals), we were
right to refer to Yen-Hsun Lu as being from Chinese Taipei.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office recognises Chinese Taipei and supports
the Beijing government in that they regard Taiwan as a province of China.
Other sport governing bodies also refer to Chinese Taipei.
We appreciate that this is a politically sensitive issue, however it’s not
our position to refer to or indeed discuss this during our Wimbledon coverage.
Nevertheless, we would like to assure you that we’ve registered your
complaint on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback
that’s circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive
Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape
decisions about future programming and content.
