It's usually a little funny when All-Stars play the "I'm overlooked" card,
but Washington Wizards guard John Wall has a reason to do so. Wall, who was
arguably the second best player in the Eastern Conference this season, was
not named to any of the three All-NBA teams on Thursday. Wall had the
following reaction:

The guards on the first team, unsurprisingly, were Stephen Curry and James
Harden. The guards on the second team were Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul.
The guards on the third team were Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.

As well as being one of the best defensive point guards in the league, Wall
averaged 17.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 10 assists per game, evolving as a
playmaker and taking another step toward superstardom.

A couple of his Washington teammates thought his exclusion was crazy:

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who made the second team, tweeted,
"No J Wall? Smh." He then deleted it, however. Cousins and Wall were
teammates with the Kentucky Wildcats.

With the way Wall and the Wizards played in the postseason, it's easy to say
now that he should have been there instead of Thompson and Irving. Those are
great players, though, and this seemed like a pretty tough call as the
regular season wound down. Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard
deserved some consideration, too, as did the Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler.

For the record, it wasn't that close: players received five points for a
first-team vote, three points for a second-team vote and one point for a
third-team vote. Thompson had 122 points, Irving had 112, Wall had 50, Butler
had 32 and Lillard had 22.
