With our game against Manchester City over 72 hours away, our manager said
he had yet to start his work on the game as the players finalise their
recovery from Wednesday's draw with West Ham, but he was able, however, to
discuss the league leaders' credentials.


Today (Friday) is transfer deadline day, so it was no surprise the media
conference began with that in mind. Mourinho reported the signing of Kurt
Zouma, from St Etienne, would be our last this month, and stressed no
first team players would be leaving the group on this traditionally
frenzied day of speculation and last-gasp additions.


He began by assessing the acquisition of 19-year-old Zouma, whose signing
was confirmed just a few minutes before the conference began. The
Frenchman will be loaned back to Saint Etienne for the remainder of this
season.

again. He is a young player in a position where we need to think about the
future, so job done, well done Chelsea.'


Mohamed Salah, another of our January recruits, trained with the team for
the first time today. Asked whether he would be available for Monday's
match, our manager explained he would have to wait and see as Salah had
gone a few days without training while he secured a work permit and visa.
Prior to that, the Egyptian had been on a winter break with FC Basel at
the midway point of the Swiss league season.

'City score goals, and I don't think for them it is important if somebody
is injured. Normally when your approach is very defensive if you concede a
goal you are in trouble or you have to make changes during the game and
you never know how the player will adapt to it.

莫里尼奧已經開始展望下賽季等待著他和隊員們的挑戰了。自從今夏回到藍橋，
這位主帥就表示他的關注點在於提高隊員們的個人和集體能力。若能實現，他相信我

“我很享受建設隊伍，建設未來的過程。”他說道。“我是在享受，不是只為了
今天而工作。我享受的不是下賽季和一支新的隊伍從頭開始，花很多錢，買進賣出很
多球員。我非常享受現況。”


“我並不享受屈居人下的感覺，所以下賽季我會更加享受，那時我這個教練的工
作和俱樂部的工作都會開花結果 — 從下賽季一開始我們就是爭冠隊伍。那是我們的

Mourinho may not envisage a particularly busy summer for himself or the
club, but the World Cup in Brazil - which starts in a little over four
months' time - will ensure the footballing fraternity will have something
to feast on when the domestic action takes a break. Ashley Cole is hoping
to feature in his fourth World Cup for England and despite no longer being
guaranteed a starting place at Chelsea our manager underlined why he
believes our left-back warrants a spot in Roy Hodgson's squad.


'I think the national team managers in every country know who are the best
players, who are the players they trust and who are the players that were
important during qualification. I don't think they are influenced much by
the fact a player is playing a lot or not so much,' assessed Mourinho.


'Ashley is playing well for us. Okay, he is not playing every game but
when he plays he is playing well and I think that is what Roy Hodgson
needs to feel and needs to know.


'At the moment our team is playing very well from a defensive point of
view. We've found some balance. On our left side we have Eden, a very
offensive winger that plays very wide, and we have stability with
Azpilicueta being behind him as a strong defender. On the right side it's
different because we have a winger who comes inside a lot and a right-back
that is going forward, so we are finding the balances.


'I believe more in stability and knowing the player and what they can give
you in high pressure situations like a World Cup. It's not my problem,
it's Roy's problem, but I think he goes for stability and takes Ashley and
Leighton Baines who are the left-backs that helped the team qualify.'

的公眾卻對曼城持寬容態度。


莫里尼奧認為曼城避免了切爾西在10年前被公眾炮轟的命運，當時很多球迷指責
切爾西“買來”了冠軍，而在過去6年，曼城轉會投資達到了6億英鎊，莫帥認為球迷
採用了雙重標準。


莫里尼奧說：“我不知道為什麼他們如今這麼受歡迎，而我們當初沒有。我不知
道為什麼。在我的那個時候，我們被指責在購買冠軍，不是嗎？因為我們的老闆是阿
布先生，他當時剛剛來到這個國家。也許現在人們以不同的眼光看待曼城。我不確定
是不是因為曼城花了6年才達到如今的水準，而我們一開始就在拿冠軍。我也不在乎。
