有人說臀部是下肢的馬達,我說臀部除了是下肢的馬達外,
還扮演著承上啟下的功能,臀部肌肉包含臀大肌、臀中肌及臀小肌,
其中又以臀中肌及臀大肌最為重要,臀中肌往下控制著髖關節
且影響膝關節的生物力學,往上則替做為脊椎基底的骨盆維持平衡,
並傳遞上下半身之間的力量。
研究指出髕骨股骨疼痛症候群(PFPS)、髕骨外翻、髕骨軟化、
髂脛束症猴群(ITBS)、前十字韌帶斷裂及阿基里斯腱病變等
都與臀中肌無力有關。
這也就是許多版友建議有PFPS及ITBS的人練臀中肌的原因
