It has been speculated that if the A’s left Oakland, the team’s home of 54 yea
rs, they might need to pay a relocation fee as high as $1 billion. But MLB held
its owners meeting earlier this month and a relocation fee was not discussed in
an open session, sources said.

此舉能減少綠帽老板蓋新球場的財政負擔

因爲根據情報指出

綠帽最多能拿到2.5億公家的錢去蓋LV的新球場（需要10億）

所以剩下的要自己出



註：

搬家費的目的是為了避免球隊常常搬家

以及補償聯盟失去收擴編球隊權利金的機會（約22億鎂）

因爲搬家地往往都是擴編熱門位置

目前聯盟有在計畫要擴編兩隊

但打算先處理完綠帽/光芒搬家事宜
