Pedro could return next week, retire after 08
Pedro Martinez (hamstring) allowed one earned run on five hits in an extended
spring training game on Monday.
Most importantly, he didn't feel any pain in an effort that saw him hit 90 on
the radar gun. He'll throw a bullpen session with the team in Atlanta on
Wednesday, and could return for the series against the Marlins that starts on
Monday. Martinez also suggested that he could retire after this season to be
with his father, who is suffering from an aggressive form of lymphoma.
