藍軍以9分優勢領跑英超，而特里只能作為名義上的隊長在場邊默默注視著隊友
們連戰連捷。藍軍名宿、1998世界盃冠軍隊成員德塞利認為，特里應該主動退場了，
是時候讓新人們接管藍軍了。


13年前，特里和加拉斯將德塞利“逼離”斯坦福橋，如今藍軍隊長特里和當年德
塞利的處境如出一轍。這位切爾西傳奇中衛稱：“當年我離開是因為他們（指特里、
加拉斯）比我更快、比我更強，於是我選擇隱退。當年他們才是時代的中心，那是屬
於他們的切爾西。”正是在德塞利離開之後，特里和加拉斯們開啟了藍軍新時代，冠
軍接踵而至。


而如今，特里已逐漸被後輩們取代，不過特里的心態還不錯，至少沒有在更衣室
製造麻煩。


德塞利表示：“很高興看到作為隊長的特里能坦然面對這一切。但必須看到的是
你已不在球隊核心，因為其他球員更適合教練制定的新戰術，但你仍然在那裡，你還
在那裡嘗試著專注。”


‘You remind one of the players when he's not training well “Oh, what are
you doing?” so these are the small important details that John is going
over.

Desailly was 35 when he left Chelsea and, despite being in and out of the
side in his final season, has been credited as a big influence in Terry's
career. The World Cup winner was named as a mentor to Terry in the early
years of his professional career.


Having been a dominant influence in Chelsea's most successful years, his
new role is more about putting pressure on the central men in Antonio
Conte's title-chasing team.


‘He's good because he gives a lot of pressure to the first choice that
Conte has selected – Kurt Zouma or Gary Cahill,’ Desailly said. ‘When
you have John Terry on the bench I can tell you that when you come on the
pitch and you want to perform because you know that he can change you (out
of the team) at any time.’
