After getting the big lift from Acevedo's three-pitch out to end the eighth,
Hurdle turned to closer Chin-hui Tsao to protect the seven-run lead in the
ninth inning.

strikes. I think he's embraced the role, and he's just going out there and
pitching like he feels. He threw some good sliders, he mixed in his changeup
and his fastball obviously was live. We'll let him run with this for a while,
and see where it takes us."
