Jakarta (ANTARA) - Three basketball players, who are set to join the national ba
sketball team, officially became Indonesian citizens (WNI) after taking the loya
lty oath at the Law and Human Rights Ministry's regional office here on Monday.

Two of the players -- Dame Diagne and Serigne Modou Kane -- from Senegal are bei
ng prepared by Indonesia's Basketball Association (Perbasi) to participate in th
e FIBA World Cup 2023, while the third, Marques Terrel Bolden, who once played f
or Senegal and NBA team Cleveland Cavaliers in 2020-2021, will play for the nati
onal team in the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 in August this year.

Bolden will compete for a spot on the national team with another naturalized pla
yer, Lester Prosper, who will also play for the national team in the qualifier r
ound of FIBA Asia Cup 2021. According to FIBA regulations, each team can only fi
eld one naturalized player.
