OAKLAND -- When the Mariners opened their three-game series against the Oakland
A's on Monday, they did so without first baseman Richie Sexson. Sexson was
placed on the bereavement list and left the team on Monday to be with his wife,
Kerry, who had an emergency Cesarean section in Seattle.

水手隊與運動家隊的三連戰在星期一開打時，一壘手Sexson將會缺席這個系列賽。Sexson
在星期一為了陪伴在西雅圖動緊急剖腹生產的太太而離開球隊，同時Sexson也被放上了"

According to a team spokesman, Kerry Sexson gave birth to twins on Monday after
noon -- a boy and a girl.

根據球隊發言人的說法，Sexson的老婆Kerry Sexson在星期一的下午產下一對龍鳳胎。

The twins were originally due to be born in September.

這對雙胞胎原本是預定在九月出生。

Major League Baseball states that a player who is placed on the bereavement
list must remain on the list for a minimum of three games.

根據大聯盟的規定，被放到"bereavement list"的球員必須在這個名單上待上只少三場比
賽。

也就是說Sexson在這個系列戰中將不會出席。
