New deals for Academy quartet
news Thu 6 Jul 2017
Four Chelsea Academy youngsters have this week signed new contracts at the
club.
Josimar Quintero put pen to paper on a two-year deal before signing on
loan for the season at FC Rostov. Meanwhile Cole Dasilva, Isaac
Christie-Davies and Ali Suljic have all agreed one-year extensions to
keep them committed until the summer of 2018.
Dasilva was a goalscorer in our FA Youth Cup final victory over Manchester
City in April and represented Wales at the Toulon Tournament last month.
Christie-Davies made 14 appearances for our development squad last term,
while Sweden Under-17 international Suljic missed the campaign with a
long-term injury.
The trio have joined a combined development squad and youth team group for
a pre-season training camp in Spain this week before the first friendlies
ahead of the new season on Saturday 15 July.

Chelsea hand three-year contract to teenage forward Callum Hudson Odoi
amid interest from Juventus
By Rob Draper - Updated: 13:15 BST, 5 July 2017
Chelsea's teenage starlet Callum Hudson Odoi has signed a new, three-year
deal with the club despite interest from Juventus and Benfica after his
performances in the FA Youth Cup this season.
The 16-year-old, who also played a key role in England Under 17s' run to
the Euro final in which he scored before the team lost on penalties to
Spain, has attracted enormous attention this season but has now committed
to Chelsea.
Hudson-Odoi has sparked a frenzy of interest from clubs hoping he might
not sign with Chelsea, given the difficulties of progressing to the first
team there.
But with the club more focused than ever on getting their academy
graduates into competitive environments, he will doubtless be given the
opportunity to go out on loan sometime in the next 18 months. That will
speak a scramble of clubs when the time comes with QPR and Bristol City
already monitoring his progress.
Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo will make the final decision
but the club is mindful of the need to ensure that young players don't
stagnate. Tammy Abraham was crucial to Bristol City last season on loan
and though he was 18 when he left Chelsea, his experience there has earned
him a five-year deal at Chelsea and a loan move to Premier League Swansea.
