Pep Guardiola says No to Chelsea Position!
Posted by: -W. on November 21, 2012
For the last few days there has been talk of the possibility of Pep
Guardiola taking over Chelsea after sacking Roberto Di Matteo. Roman
Abramovich has been intensifying the negotiations in the last hours with
Pep Guardiola and other interested replacemers including Rafa Benitez.
However he has not achieved his goal as Pep Guardiola does not intend to
occupy the position at Stamford Bridge – at least for now.
The Russian tycoon has offered Guardiola an interesting sum of money to
become the coach of his team, but the former coach of FC Barcelona has
declined the offer because it is all very sudden. Champions League
winners Chelsea are a attractive option for Pep Guardiola, but isn't
interested in managing any clubs right now.
The reasons seem obvious as coach Guardiola is meticulous and needs to
know what the strengths and weaknesses of his teams are. Taking over now
would prevent him from doing that, as Chelsea are already competing in
the Champions League, Premier League, League Cup, and soon to be Clubs
World Cup. Guardiola wants time to adapt at the club and believes
preseason would be a perfect opportunity.
