Wakefield named honorary chair of Red Sox Foundation

Tim Wakefield is back with the Red Sox, but don't expect to see any knucklers
floating around Fenway anytime soon.

Wakefield on Friday joined the Red Sox front office as a special assignment
instructor and honorary chairman of the Red Sox Foundation.

Like former teammates Jason Varitek and Pedro Martinez, Wakefield is part of
a new generation of former players who have come back to lend their
experience to the organization.

Wakefield has the third-most wins in franchise history, behind only Cy Young
and Roger Clemens.
