Schoolboy error to come for late first-half corner. Looked shaky all
afternoon.
Looked to be blamed for Crouch's first-half equaliser for poor communication
but that could be said about the two Chelsea centre-backs. Handled well when
he had to and distribution was always at a fast-pace to set up his side's
attacks.

Lost at sea when Assaidi nipped in behind him before hitting the winner.
Awful shot on goal in first half.
Impressive down the right-hand side getting forward well, giving Chelsea an
extra outlet. He should have won the header which cost his side a goal just
before half-time.

Failed to make a tackle over 90 minutes and positioning was highly
questionable.
Generally had a good game in which he wasn't afraid to clear the ball to
safety, moving his side up the pitch in the process. He wasn't tight enough
to Crouch for the first goal and maybe could have closed down Ireland for the
second.

A birthday to forget. Communication with Cech appeared to be a problem for
the Blues.
Showed why many believe he should be on the plane to Brazil with a commanding
display. Generally handled Crouch well all game.

Was arguably fouled in the build-up to Ireland's goal. Stuck to his task
diligently.
Was at fault for Stoke's second goal when he was outmuscled by Walters.
Didn't really affect the game enough going forward.

Wasted several good first-half opportunities and didn't offer defence much
protection.
Missed a hatful of chances in the first half running late from midfield. His
box-to-box style caused Stoke a lot of problems but he will feel he should
have been on the scoresheet today.

Claimed an assist for Schurrle's goal and like the German, was perhaps
wrongly withdrawn in hindsight.
Excellent routine performance from the NIgerian who kept things nice and easy
in the Chelsea midfield before he was replaced, supplying the likes of Hazard
and Mata to set up attacks.

Two expertly-taken goals - should Mourinho have kept him on the pitch for the
last 20 minutes?
A wonderful display by the young German who produced two splendid finishes
this afternoon. His movement is very clever which was shown for his first
goal. Unlucky not to score a hat-trick, hitting the crossbar before being
replaced on the hour mark.

Pulled the strings in attack in tandem with Hazard and Schurrle. One of the
Blues' better players.
Looked like he was going through the motions at times and didn't have as much
of an impact as Schurlle and Hazard. Never looked committed in his defensive
duties.

Like Schurrle, a constant threat to Stoke and was the Blues' most accurate
passer of the ball.
His ability to manoeuvre away from danger when closed down is a joy to watch
and he was always direct and creative in his play.

Approach play was decent in hour-long outing but didn't get into good
positions.
Worked hard and always looked to get in behind the Stoke backline, creating
space for the midfield three in behind him to exploit.

Late substitute who wasn't on the pitch long enough to have an impact.

Had a free-kick late on which he normally does better with. Never really got
