Rajon Rondo denies spitting, says Chris Paul 'trying to make up a story' to
be 'good guy'

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo said Tuesday that he never
intentionally spit on Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul and felt that Paul
fabricated a story that the NBA and media bought into.
LA湖人控衛Rajon Rondo在星期二的時候說他從未蓄意要對Houston火箭後衛CP3吐口水，而
且他覺得CP3捏造故事，然後聯盟跟媒體都買他的帳。

Rondo was suspended three games and Paul two by the league for their roles in
a brawl that broke out Saturday and saw both players throw punches. Paul
claimed Rondo spit at him, which prompted him to point his finger in Rondo's
face and ignite the melee.
因為星期六的大亂鬥，兩個球員互揮拳頭，聯盟判Rondo禁賽3場，CP被禁賽2場。CP3宣稱
Rondo吐他口水，導致他手指到Rondo的臉上，引發之後的大亂鬥。

Rondo contends that because he was wearing a mouthguard, he couldn't have
deliberately spit at Paul.

"Of course, the NBA went with (Paul's) side because I got three games and he
got two," Rondo told ESPN. "Everyone wants to believe Chris Paul is a good
guy. They don't know he's a horrible teammate. They don't know how he treats
people. Look at what he did last year when he was in LA; trying to get to the
Clippers locker room. They don't want to believe he's capable of taunting and
igniting an incident.
「當然，NBA是偏向CP3那邊的，因為我被禁了3場，他只被禁2場，」Rondo跟ESPN記者說。
「每個人都想去相信CP3是個好人，但是大家不知道他是個糟糕的隊友，大家不知道他是怎

"Exasperating and spitting are two different things. (Paul) comes out and
says I spit and the media sides with that. ... It's bigger than basketball
now, for (the media), for the league, that side over there trying to spin
this like ... this whole spitgate — trying to blame me without being
accountable for anything (Paul) did to provoke the situation."
「激怒人跟吐口水是兩件不同的事。CP3出來說我吐他口水，然後媒體就一面倒靠過去...

The NBA made its decisions on suspensions based off of official game footage,
not Paul's word. Rondo still felt that Paul spun the story of what took
place.
聯盟對於本次禁賽的裁決是基於官方比賽錄影，並不是根據CP3的說法，但是Rondo仍然覺
得CP3的說法扭曲了真正發生的狀況。

"I had a mouthpiece in my mouth and I exasperated because I was about to tell
him to 'Get the (expletive) out of here.' Look at my body language," Rondo
said of replayed footage of the incident. "My hands on my hips. I turn away
for a second. Look at Eric (Gordon) and Melo (Carmelo Anthony) in the video.
If they saw me spit, they would have turned their face up or something. They
had no reaction.
「我嘴巴裡有牙套，我很生氣，因為我正要上去叫他『****給我離開這裡。』看我的肢體
動作就知道，」Rondo在看著重播錄影的時候說到。「我的手在我的屁股上，然後我轉過身

"If I spit on you on purpose, I'm going to be ready for a man to swing on me.
You ain't going to have my hands on my hip and my head look away at someone
if I spit on them. ... (Paul's version of the incident) makes no sense to me."
「若我真的要故意吐口水，我就要準備好對方會揮拳頭了，而不是像我手還放在屁股上，
然後我的臉還在看別的地方。CP3的說法對我來說真的沒道理。」

Right after the altercation, Paul told LeBron James as he was being
restrained that he was spit on and then went over to tell television
commentators. On Tuesday, Paul maintained his stance that he was deliberately
spit on, telling reporters that he did his best to stay "as poised as
possible" in the moment.
在大亂鬥後，CP3在被抱住的時候跟LBJ說他被吐口水，然後就去跟電視播報員講。星期二
的時候，CP3堅持他的立場，認為他是被吐口水，告訴記者在當時那個狀況，他已經很盡力
保持理性了。

Lakers coach Luke Walton said Tuesday that he didn't think Rondo spit on Paul
on purpose. On Monday, Lakers forward Brandon Ingram shouldered blame for
instigating the entire incident. Ingram was suspended four games for pushing
James Harden, confronting an official and returning to Rondo and Paul's fight
to throw a punch.
湖人教練Luke Walton在星期二的時候說他不認為Rondo故意吐CP3口水；而星期一的時候湖
人前鋒Brandon Ingram說他要為整起事件負起責任。Ingram因為推擠James Harden，與裁
判爭執，以及回到Rondo-CP3的亂鬥跟揮拳被禁賽4場。

Rondo said that he planned to remain quiet but ultimately felt compelled to
stand up for himself.
Rondo說他本來是想就保持沉默，但是後來覺得被迫要出來悍衛自己。

"I was going to let it rest. I wasn't going to say much," he said. "But now I
have kids and I teach my kids to speak up for themselves and don't let the
world tell their story."

的小孩要為自己發聲，而不是就讓其他人講他們的版本。」
