Joe: Knowing what you know would you have taken Groome with a top 3 pick?

Klaw: Yes, I would have. I might have handled him differently post-draft
than other prospects, but so what? If you find a talented kid with a
drinking problem, but no history of violence, abuse, destructive behavior,
etc., you might still draft and sign him, but have EA people in place
with him, avoid certain environments, etc. That’s the cost of developing
players to me.

Round 3: Shaun Anderson, RHP
今年佛州大投手很熱門,我們也選了他們的終結者,能到95mile的FB,還OK的cutter
跟普普的changeup,slider,有人認為他球種多能當SP,因為佛州大SP強,所以把他
擠到CL

Brian: Keith, the Red Sox selected Florida’s closer, Shaun Anderson,
in round 3, mlb.com suggests he could be made a starter. But for this
year, is he someone that the Sox could put in the big league pen this
year and then try him as a starter in the minors next? Is that bad for
his development? Is he even good enough to consider that? Thanks a lot.

Klaw: I don’t think he can be a starter. It’s not outrageous, but I
think he’s a pen guy, and I’d do what you suggest – move him quick
to AA or AAA and see what happens.

Round 4: Bobby Dalbec, 3B
plus plus power, plus arm,但是爛hit tool(AVG: .228..),速度也差,當
野手只能站一壘他在NCAA有31%打席被K,賭到就可能是Christ Carter,沒賭
到很可能直接掛在A+,優點是他也能當投手,有93~93 mile的FB

這傢伙被選當天先發,第25次投球,第5場先發,到第5局結束時成績是3H 0ER 2BB 3K,
然後在第6局,9球3K,第7局 5球3上3下,再來我就不知道了,不過據國外鄉民說,
他的FB太直

seems like a bad pick for Boston.

Keith Law: Where they took him (4th) was fair. Huge power, maybe 80 power,
too much swing and miss. Fourth round expected value is near zero, so
rolling the dice on a kid who might only have a 5% chance of clicking but
is a solid #6 hitter if he does work out is reasonable. Also, while I like
some players more than others, it's a little hard to make a "bad" pick
by this point in the draft.

Round 5: Mike Shawaryn, RHP

Plus FB (能到94 mile),average slider, average changeup, average controll.
6尺3吋,210磅,在這一輪選到BA NO.77的(MLB排139),算是不錯了

Round 6: Steve Nogosek, RHP

6尺1吋,above average FB(能到94 mile),average slider and controll,
BA認為他能先發,但MLB.com認為天花板最多是setup man

Round 7: Ryan Scott, LF

senior pick,沒上BA PG MLB.com的排名,應該是被壓榨的可憐孩子

Round 8: Alan Marrero C IBAHS HS (PR)

能蹲,防守跟臂力都不錯的"波多黎各捕手",有些砲跟hit tool

恩?這些條件是否有點似曾相識呢?

Round 9: Matt McLean, OF

senior pick,被選時,MLB官方甚至不知道他是誰..,也是注定被壓榨的可憐孩子

Round 10: Santiago Espinal, SS

有速度有contact,防守不錯,沒砲,應該最多是板凳球員

我們3~5輪選到的選手,都分別在BA 3~5輪選秀評論值得注意的名單裡,
我覺得在為了省錢給Jason Groome的前提下,已經算是做到很好了,
3~5輪跟第8輪那捕手都有一些不錯的tool可以賭賭看

11~40輪有幾個進榜的高中生,應該是怕Jason Groome沒簽下,為了不浪費
2~10輪省下的錢而選的,我只挑有進MLB或BA top 200內的

Round 11: Nick Quintana, 328th overall

Arizona commitment,BA評價應該前3輪的貨,average hit tool and power,
plus arm,不可能待在SS,應該會轉2B,也可能因為強的臂力轉捕手

Round 29: Cam Shepherd, 868th overall

原本預計前5輪的貨,Georgia commitment,above average hitt poool,
目前沒砲,但身材有成長空間,有人認為未來可能15轟的潛力,臂力高於平均,
但是速度不夠站SS,應該會轉2B或3B

Round 30: Tyler Fitzgerald, 898th overall
Louisville commitment,hit tool略低平均,其他4項tool都average左右,
但未來變壯可能讓速度變慢,轉成3B或RF

Round 32: Jeff Belge, 958th overall
6尺4吋的左投,St. John's commitment, plus FB(能到95 mile,但有時也會
掉到低於90) average slider, 控球below average
