Hey guys, it has been two days since the last blog so I have to catch you up
:) My singles match on Wednesday night was pretty late, but that can happen.
It was a tough first round match. My draw could have been better I guess,
Gisela Dulko has been playing so well. I had some problems getting going in
the first set and had chances in the second set but couldn't make it. Gisela
is one of the nicest girls on the WTA. I enjoy when she's around, we talk
sometimes. She's a good person. We've played each other so many times so we
know each other pretty well! Good luck to her the rest of the tournament...
I didn't do anything special on Thursday. There's a little mall close to the
hotel, almost inside the hotel, so I looked around a bit... I didn't find
anything to buy though. There's also a cinema in the mall, so I went there in
the evening. I saw No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman and Ashton
Kutcher. It was a romantic comedy so pretty easy going :) Natalie Portman is
one of my favorite actors. She just won an Oscar and I was cheering for her.
I also like Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway... I have many
favorites.
Today Barbora and I had our doubles quarterfinal. Our opponents played really
well at the beginning and won the first set, and we had to start playing
better in the second set. We did, and then won the super tie-break. You never
know what's going to happen in those. I'm looking forward to the semis...
Now for some of your questions... thank you for writing in :)
Is there a city you haven't visited yet but would like to? Gary
I have been to so many places... it's hard to think of where I haven't been!
I'll think about that one though. I think I've played in all of the big
cities...
Who is your favorite Czech player of all time and who was your idol when you
were younger? Emmanuel, Belgium
I would say my favorite Czech player was Navratilova. She didn't play for the
Czech Republic after she became American but she was born there and played
for us for so long. My favorite player was Steffi Graf. She was great. She
was also a nice person. I never met her but saw her in interviews and other
people who met her told me she is really nice. I believe it!
Which victory in your career so far do you cherish most? Sudhakar, USA
I've played for some time, a lot of matches... it's hard to pick. For sure
finals are the most memorable, but so are some first round and second round
matches where you don't play well and come from behind to win... I'll think
about this one too. Sorry some of my answers aren't specific tonight :)
