Finnish point guard Petteri Koponen
Q: On today's workout:
A: Today, I don't know, it wasn't so good for me. ... Tomorrow is new workout
and try to be better tomorrow.
Q: On why he thought he struggled in today's workout:
A: I didn't shoot good. My shot wasn't good today.
Q: On how many workouts his participated in so far:
A: This was my fifth (workout).
Q: On where he'll go next:
A: New York.
Q: On the difference between the guys he's been working out with for the NBA
compared to the competition in Finland:
A: Here the guys are much more athletic and quicker so it takes time to
adjust my game like that.
Q: On when he first started considering to come to the United States and try
out for the NBA:
A: After Nike Hoops saw me when I played there ... People said I played good.
So after that, we decided to (try out for the NBA).
Q: On whether he thinks basketball has improved because the NBA has become
more of an alternative for European players the last 10 years:
A: Yeah, I think so... If Europeans come here earlier, then they are like
earlier ready to play in the NBA, because the game type in Europe is
different then in NBA so it takes time; a couple years.
Q: On what he hopes will come from his pre-draft workouts:
A: We'll see what will happen. Europe is my other option, so I think if I
will put my name out there so then I will go to play in Europe.
Q: On the competition in Finland:
A: Last year our league was pretty good. Each team had five to seven
Americans, so the league was pretty good last year.
