As was the case in Hamburg last month, Djokovic will have the opportunity
to move up the rankings to No.2 should he beat Nadal who destroyed Almagro

“It’s impressive, of course”, Novak said of Nadal’s second successive

“He’s playing better and better. He has improvedthe serve a lot this

combines that with his great physical strength and then patience, and it’s
impressive on this surface. But I don’t want to go out there in the semis
and just try my best. I don’t want to do that. I want to win, and I think
I have good quality and good chance.
Of course, he’s the favourite and all credit to that. But only with a
positive attitude and approach in the match can I get the positive outcome.”

For Novak, beating Nadal is not his priority, winning the title is his
ultimate objective.

“I don’t want to go into the history books by beating Nadal”, Novak
stressed. “It’s not my priority goal. My priority goal is to keep on
winning, keep playing well, and then try to get as far as I can in the
tournament. Winning the title is, of course, much more important.”
