Nadal, Djokovic pair up for Rogers Cup Doubles event

In an effort to get back into groove after a long lay off
post Wimbledon, top players Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic
have decided to play doubles at the first Masters series
event of the summer hardcourt season in Toronto on Aug 7th 2010.

In the latest facebook entry of the tournament page, tournament
director Karl Hale revealed the information regarding the unlikely
Spanish-Serbian pair.

Both Nadal and Djokovic had contrasting results during the first
half of the season where Nadal claimed two Grand Slams and three
masters series crowns but Djokovic failed to win a title since
his first and only triumph in Dubai this year where he successfully
successfully defended the title.

In the singles competition, Scot Andy Murray will make an attempt to
defend his crown which he claimed last year by defeating Juan
Martin Del Potro in the marathon final.

Interestingly, the women's event follows the men's week but in
Montreal where Elena Dementieva is the defending champion.
