Joe West：健康像頭馬，不會退出2020賽季 - 美國職棒

現年67歲的資深裁判Joe West接受媒體採訪，儘管大聯盟將他列為高風險群有權利不參與
今年賽季，但他表示自己不會退出2020賽季。

Joe West有高血壓以及體重過重的問題，但他仍不想退出這次的賽季，當大聯盟詢問他是
否退出時聽到他的回答嚇了一跳。

一部分的原因是他想要突破Bill Klem的紀錄，另一部分在於他覺得自己身體狀況可以，
醫生說他的心臟健康的像頭馬。

同時他也對這次的疫情表達看法

「新聞上報導死掉的那些人，一開始就不健康，我在冬天減了25磅，我每天在酷暑中
打高爾夫球，我不會退縮」

“I said, ‘Look, most of these people that they’re reporting are dying are n
ot healthy to begin with. I’ve lost 25 pounds over the winter. I’m playing g
olf every day in the heat. I’m fine. I’m not going to back down now.’

「我不相信這些死亡都是武漢肺炎造成的。 我相信這可能是造成一些死亡的原因。 我說
:'我不會選擇退出。 我要去工作。 我要工作直到你帶我下場或是我受傷,不管怎樣我在
正在準備工作」

“I don’t believe in my heart that all these deaths have been from the corona
virus. I believe it may have contributed to some of the deaths. I said, ‘I’m
not going to opt out. I’m going to work. And I’m going to work until you ta
ke me off the field or I get hurt, whatever. I’m working.’”

同時他也認為年輕的裁判不能沒有資深裁判的帶領，他們會像沒有槳的船一樣。
