A week ago, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Phil Hughes would be
ticketed for Scranton the minute Chien-Ming Wang was ready to return to the
rotation.
一星期前，看起來當王建民一旦回到先發輪值表，休斯就要回去三A了。
Then Hughes went out and threw five solid innings against the Orioles on
Wednesday, striking out nine while walking one. As impressive as that was,
it was nothing compared to what Hughes did Monday in Texas, twirling eight
shutout innings against the first-place Rangers to earn himself at least
one more start for the Yankees.
休斯在上星期三對金鶯投出5局，九三振一保送的不錯成績。
而星期一休斯的表現更好了，對第一名的遊騎兵隊八局無失分，
這樣的表現幫他自己爭取到再一次先發的機會。
Joe Girardi’s advice to Hughes has been the same since he was first
called up last month to replace Wang.
吉總對休斯的建議從他一上來代替王建民時一樣。
“Make decisions difficult,” Girardi said. “Pitch great and do what you do.
The best thing you can have as a manager is tough decisions if you have
too many guys throwing well.”
「讓我們很難做決策」吉總說。「投得好，做你該做的。對總教練最好的一件事：
你必須煩惱你有很多好投手。」
If Hughes has actually turned a corner, Girardi will certainly have a
tough decision ahead of him. What will the Yankees do about Wang? After
listening to Girardi today, I don’t think it’s going to be an issue
any time in the immediate future, as they want to see consistency from
Wang’s sinker in games before reinserting him into the rotation.
如果休斯真的朝著好的方向前進，那Girardi當然有個困難的決定等著他～
洋基要怎麼決定王建民的角色？
今天聽完吉拉迪的談話，我不認為他們會有什麼立即的問題，
當他們希望看到王建民伸卡球的穩定性，然後才讓他回到先發輪值。
When will Wang pitch those innings to show that he’s fixed? That seems to be
the biggest problem. In hindsight (though I will say I didn’t like the move
when they first made it), bringing Wang back last Friday was a ridiculous
move if they didn’t plan on putting him into the rotation this week.
但是，何時王建民可以上場投球證明他已經好了呢？ 這是個大問題。
馬後砲一下，如果他們不打算讓王建民在本週先發，那在星期五就把王建民找回來
是件很荒謬的事（雖然我要說我從一開始就不喜歡他們做那個決定）
Instead of giving him the opportunity to throw 100 pitches every five days,
he’s now stuck in bullpen purgatory with no defined role. The Yankees can’t
send Wang to the minors, and unless they make up another injury for him, they
can’t send him on a rehab assignment. How is he supposed to prove that he’s
ready to pitch if he doesn’t get a chance to pitch?
不讓他有個機會可以在每五天投個100球，反而讓他因為沒有確定的牛棚角色
而陷在牛棚的煉獄之中。洋基已經不能把王建民送回小聯盟，而且除非
他們再找到一個傷勢否則他們不能把他送去投復健賽。
要不然，王建民沒有機會投球，要該如何證明他已經準備好上場投球呢？
