Henin-Hardenne fit to play in WTA Championships - 網球

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - World number three Justine Henin-Hardenne said on Thursday
she would compete in next week's end-of-season WTA Championships in Madrid
after a seven-week layoff with a knee injury.

"Training went well and I am ready to take part in Madrid. I will leave on
Saturday for Spain," the Belgian said on her Web site.

The tournament, which begins on November 7, gathers the top eight players from
the 2006 season who compete for a slice of a $3 million purse.

Henin-Hardenne, the French Open Champion, has been out of action since retiring
through injury in the deciding doubles match in the Fed Cup final against Italy
on September 17.
