Griffin Helps Rivers Turn Page, Explode In Game 3

As Blake Griffin went back to the locker room after a Game 2 loss, he saw a
22-year-old kid looking dejected.

Blake Griffin回到更衣室，發現22歲的Austin Rivers看起來很沮喪。

Austin Rivers had just committed a turnover with the Clippers trailing by
four points and 37 seconds remaining on the clock, effectively putting the
comeback attempt in Houston out of reach. Griffin felt he needed to say
something.

終場前37秒，快艇落後4分，Austin Rivers在一次快攻中使出背後運球過人卻跌倒，
最終失誤收場。

這讓Griffin覺得需要去跟這小夥子說些什麼。

“He visibly took that hard,” Griffin remembered. “I was like, ‘Austin, you
’re kidding yourself if you think that play was the outcome of the game.’”

Griffin回憶當時情況：

「他看起來很內疚，我當時跟他說『我說勝文吶，你覺得我們輸掉比賽都是你的錯？
別開玩笑了好嗎？』」

That brief talk was the first of a couple, as Griffin went back to Rivers
again to try to help the backup guard keep his head up. Griffin reminded
Rivers of his own Game 2 the previous series against San Antonio, after which
Griffin placed a loss on himself for a late turnover in an overtime defeat.

這是兩個男人間第一次如此誠懇的對話，
Griffin嘗試幫助Rivers從這次失利中振作起來。

為此，Griffin也提醒Rivers，

“I was like, ‘Nobody’s talking about that now,’” Griffin said. “You
have a chance to erase it.”
