Schwarzer – 6.5 - The Australian goalie made a superb save to deny Ivanovic
in the first half and helped his side through a difficult period before the
break. Was unable to handle a shot from Tosic in the last ten minutes of the
match, gifting Pantelic a goal.

Wilkshire – 6.5 - Pushed forward readily to provide width to his side and
threw over a number of good crosses. Was skinned by Ninkovic in the 50th
minute and consequently booked after hacking down the Serbian.

Neill – 7 - The experienced defender was the true leader of the Australian
defence and put in quite a solid performance. Won the majority of his
personal challenges and largely kept Zigic at bay.

Beauchamp – 7 - He was beaten by Krasic and could have been punished with a
spot kick after tugging the winger's shirt. Recovered after his initial
struggle and battled for every ball that came his way.

Carney – 5.5 - The Twente man looked vulnerable at left back and was never
able to impress. Was his side's weakest link at in defence and beaten several
times by Krasic. Reticent to really push forward, leaving the responsibility
to Wilkshire.

Emerton – 6 - Only came into the game in fits and bursts and was unable to
leave his mark on the game. The Blackburn Rovers star linked up well with
Wilkshire, but failed to trouble Serbia defender Obradovic.

Culina – 6.5 - The versatile midfielder never stopped running and made some
useful interceptions. Came close to opening the scoring with a good long
range strike in the second half.

Valeri – 6.5 - He struggled to make an impact on the game in the first half,
but hugely improved after the break. Provided his back four with decent cover
and made a superb interception before setting up Bresciano after 63 minutes
of play

Bresciano – 7 – Caused the Serbian goalie all kinds of trouble with his
powerful long range strikes. Anonymous before the break, but impressive in
the second half. Showed some good passing and vision.

Cahill – 7.5 - The Everton star returned to the pitch after his one-match
ban and immediately made an impact. Came close to breaking the deadlock,
before eventually scoring the opener with a brilliant header. Always looked
dangerous.

Kennedy – 6 - The towering striker worked hard, but Vidic proved to be too
strong for Kennedy in their duels. Almost scored Australia's third goal

Holman – 8 - Introduced into the action in the second half and helped turn
around the game. Involved in the first goal before doubling his side's lead
with a superb long range strike.

Stojkovic – 6.5 - The custodian again looked sound for Serbia. Produced a
string of blocks and the worst he could be accused of was reacting a bit late
for Holman's ferocious long range strike.

Ivanovic – 6.5 - Looked sovereign in the first half and almost broke the
deadlock after a good run forward. Allowed Bresciano too much space after the
break, as the winger sent in some dangerous crosses and shots.

Vidic – 7 - Very solid performance from the Manchester United defender. Was
hardly troubled by Kennedy's physical presence and provided excellent cover
for his fellow defenders whenever needed.

Lukovic – 6 - The Udinese defender picked up an early booking and this
hindered the centre-back for the remainder of the game. He didn't justify
Antic's decision to restore him in the starting XI after his ban.

Obradovic – 6.5 - The young full-back was never really troubled in his
defensive duties and looked reliable throughout the game. However, he didn't
really get involved in possession and could have done more.

Kuzmanovic – 7 - Was his side's star player in the first half, as he was all
over the pitch. Showed some excellent passing and vision and was unlucky to
be on the losing side.

Krasic – 6.5 - The quick winger caused his opponent all kinds of trouble
with his dribbles down the right wing. Nevertheless, he lacked an end product
on the day and really should have converted his chance in the first half.

Stankovic – 6.5 - Worked very hard and sacrificed his personal ambitions to
help the team out. More was expected of the Serbian star though, as he was
unable to lead his side to a good result.

Ninkovic – 6.5 - The creative playmaker showed flashes of brilliance and his
class with a superb move minutes after the break. Lacked the consistency to
trouble the Socceroos for the full 90 minutes. Booked after a foul on
Wilkshire.

Jovanovic – 6.5 - The future Liverpool winger always looked dangerous on the
ball, but his crosses from the left lacked the precision to trouble Neill and
Beauchamp at the centre of the Australian defence.

Zigic – 5 - The towering striker gave a superb assist on Krasic early on,
but never looked like scoring in his 67 minutes on the pitch. Sloppy
finishing on the few chances he got and deservedly hooked.
