"It's always nice to win after having spent so long without playing, but it's
not as if I'm playing at a level that can make me feel happy."

"Back in the old days I also used to feel just so-so after winning, and when
I lost I felt terrible. Tennis is a bad business for me, but to be away from
tennis is an even worse business."

Gaudio himself joked that he was "the last Roland Garros champion", in
2004, "before the Nadal Era". "Right now he has a record of 124 wins out
of 126 on clay. He's practically unbeatable. He has no weak point, or if he
has, nobody can find it."

The 30-year-old player from Buenos Aires has asked for an invitation to play
in Paris this year, and so, through wild cards, he will try to advance as
much as possible in the rankings. Tomorrow he will have another chance,
against the Spaniard Tommy Robredo, seeded sixth in the tournament.
