Frustrated Murray beaten by Seppi

Andy Murray went out of the Nottingham Open in the quarter-finals after a
6-7 (4-7) 6-4 1-6 defeat to Andreas Seppi.

Murray looked to have seized the momentum when he levelled the match at
one set all in blustery conditions.

The 19-year-old was the better player at the start of the deciding set
but he failed to take advantage and his frustration got the better of him.

Seppi broke serve at 2-1 and won the next three games to reach his first
grass-court semi-final.

Murray was the highest-ranked player left in the draw and previous
opponent Max Mirnyi had tipped the teenager to win the title.

However, Seppi, who had won only one match on grass before this year,
proved to be a tricky opponent.

The Italian, world-ranked 72, kept his composure throughout in testing
conditions, while Murray struggled to maintain his.

"They are probably the windiest conditions I've ever played a match in,"
Murray said afterwards.

"It was difficult to judge anything. You could hit a good shot and it would
finish five feet long or halfway up the net.

"On the positive side I thought I served well for most of the match, but
apart from that I struggled with everything else. I was surprised at how
badly I hit the ball.

"I think it was due to frustration with both the elements and myself.

"When I get to Wimbledon I will try to keep a level head and not explode like
I did today."

Seppi goes on to face Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman, who cruised past Spain's
Feliciano Lopez 6-3 6-4.

In the top half of the draw, defending champion Richard Gasquet safely came
through his quarter-final against fellow Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-3 6-1.

Gasquet now meets Robin Soderling, after the Swede beat Janko Tipsarevic 7-6
(7-4) 6-4.
