Family illness hits Giffin

Australia's newly appointed assistant coach David Giffin has been forced
out of their upcoming European tour because his two-year-old son Joseph has
cancer.

Giffin, vice-captain of last year's beaten World Cup finalists, was only
appointed to the post last week.

"All our energy is focused on getting him healthy again. Everyone will
understand this will have a major impact on our lives," he said.

"It's a shock for us all. We're hoping for the best," said coach Eddie Jones.
