Coach has Dokic fired up for wildcard return

JELENA DOKIC has credited her new coach, uncompromising Dutchman Glenn
Schaap, with refuelling her desire to return to the elite level she last
reached at the 2008 Australian Open, saying she sacrificed the second half of
this season to prepare for next year.

Dokic, whose ranking has sagged to 137th, admitted she ''had a few troubles
with injury and form and was not feeling very good about my tennis'' before
linking with Schaap midyear. The pair arrived in Melbourne late on Sunday
night with Dokic's long-time partner, Tin Bikic, after a month's indoor
training in Switzerland before next week's Australian Open wildcard play-off
at Melbourne Park.

她說她為此犧牲了整個2010下半季的比賽，此外，一些傷勢問題也困擾著她，
讓她無法打出平常的水準，直到請了新教練。

而她和她的男友-Tin Bikic在上週日晚間一同抵達墨爾本，在此之前的一個月，
她都在瑞士室內球場訓練，為的就是爭奪澳網外卡資格。


''A lot of people wondered why I didn't play a lot of tournaments in the
second half of the year. The reason I stopped playing was to recover from
injury and sort out my coaching situation. I needed to make some changes. I
felt like I was stuck in one place and my game wasn't going anywhere,''
Dokic, 27, wrote on her website yesterday.

''So the initial time out was good to sort all of that out, and then once I
had Glenn on board he didn't want me to even play the events I did. I have seen
that some people wondered why I didn't play too many events, well now I hope it
is clear that I just wanted to reset myself for a big return, long term.

''Glenn wants to focus on getting my fitness right, working on my movement,
my serves and just getting everything in order. We wanted to plan for the
long haul and get in a really good off-season. I could have tried to play a
few events and get some points to squeeze in [to the] main draw at the
Australian Open but our focus is long term.''

Dokic昨天在自己的官網上說，"很多人疑惑為什麼我今年下半季沒參加很多比賽，
其實最主要是我必須暫停且治療傷勢，然後尋找新教練。我想做一些改變，因為我
覺得自己好像沒什麼進步。"

"這次的人事變動很順利，然後當Glenn加入我的團隊時，他表示要我退出我已安排
好的賽程，而那時外界也對我的憑空消失充滿疑惑，但現在事情都明朗了，我只是
想為我長遠的回歸計畫，重整自我。

"Glenn要我專心維持身體健康，並加強我的移位、發球，盡量讓一切回歸正軌。這段
沒賽程的日子，我們做了長期的計畫，而且實行地不錯。我可以多打幾個比賽，看能
否找到機會，讓我的排名能足以擠進澳網的正賽籤表，但我最終目的，還是在未來能
取得更好成績。"


''He is an extremely tough coach and exactly what I needed,'' said Dokic, the
wildcard play-off winner in 2006 and 2008.

''Glenn has really brought back a lot of motivation. I've always had it but
he has refuelled it. Again I have to add he is extremely tough, he doesn't
take any nonsense. He really makes me work hard and I like that and I can
already see big improvements on the court.

''I think I now have the right team of people around me … ''
