NBA Rumors: Stephen Curry out of 2016 NBA Playoffs or just 2-3 weeks? Early reports not good for the Warriors’ title defense
Latest NBA rumors state that Stephen Curry could be out for two to three weeks if his right knee injury is as serious as many are speculating it to be. Some are even speculating that the Warriors star could be out of the entire NBA Playoffs.
The latest on Stephen Curry, after the warriors Game 4 win over the Houston Rockets, is that the Warriors point guard will have an MRI on Monday and official word on the matter is expected to be announced by then.
However, Curry’s injury looked bad when he fell down in the first half of the game against the Rockets when banged his right knee on the floor. Curry did not play in the second half but the Warriors still won via blowout, 121-94. Curry missed the previous game with an ankle injury suffered in Game 1 of the series and the Warriors PG has history of injuries to his ankle in previous seasons.
As a similar report noted, Stephen Curry’s injury could spell serious trouble for the Warriors in their hopes to getting a second championship this in two years.
The injury puts the Warriors in an unfortunate situation of playing without their top star in the series against Houston and their next series, either against Chris Paul’s Los Angeles Clippers or Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers.
The Clippers lead that best-of-seven series, 2-1 and if they finish of the Blazers early they could face the Warriors without Curry in the first two or three games of the Western Conference semifinals if the 2-3 weeks estimate is correct.
Two tweets among other NBA rumors have stated that it’s sprained MCL for Curry but nothing can be confirmed until official team doctors have done the MRI on the Warriors’ star. Other tweets even state that Curry could be out of the 2016 NBA Playoffs which would put the Warriors in a very difficult situation in their title defense.
