Excellent at right-back, attacking with intent - he had one goal-bound shot
deflected wide - and kept Routledge in his pocket.

Not worked very hard at centre-back but looked comfortable throughout. Never
fears a physical battle - including when he is under pressure and bringing
the ball out of defence himself.

Decisive at the back and a real threat from set-pieces, he seemed to have
laid a goal for Eto'o on a plate but the Cameroon striker had it taken off
his toe by Williams.

A straightforward afternoon on his return to the starting XI. It was
difficult for him to stake his claim for a place against Liverpool in any way
other than simply feeding Hazard the ball regularly.

Enigmatic, imposing himself well when he stepped high up the pitch but too
often letting his concentration wander in his own half. The Chelsea midfield
simply parted on occasion when Swansea ventured forward.

Some nice touches, as ever, and a superb cross that Eto'o should have
converted in the opening minute of the second half. Another player, like
Cole, who did not fare badly but probably did not do enough to secure his

Regularly involved in a withdrawn role, often feeding Eto'o with his back to
goal. By staying deep he often recovered second balls and made some excellent
tackles to keep Chelsea on the front foot.

The jewel in Chelsea's attacking crown, he was a delight to watch once more.
The Belgian's passing is absolutely superb and he picked out his team-mates
time and time again before taking matters into his own hands to open the
scoring.

Always willing to receive the ball and does plenty of work to the benefit of
his team-mates but he must start to find the back of the net on a more
