Carlos's Diary After the US Open 2005

Hello to everyone,

The North American round of matches was marked with a very good beginning. We
watched Justine play quality tennis in Toronto, and in my eyes with the
inactivity of two months it was very good. I believe that from here on, she
once again put the bar too high, and systematically put too much pressure on
her shoulders. Sadly this led to the US open. Although she started off so
well; something we're not accustomed, the next matches were played with very
few difficulty. She couldn't find the balance between pressures, and
expressing her tennis on court. This is Justine, and it's something which
happens. A tennis player often times has very good, good, and terrible
periods, but should always be supported. In our case, it's necessary to use
what she lived in the US Open, learn and work in the future a little more
positively.

On my side, I also lived with difficulty. At certain times I can help
Justine, but other times I don't have the weapons to reach in deeper. It has
enabled me to learn enormously from things that happened. Our approach is
even better than before, she really opened herself up, and said exactly how
she felt. We can now rectify, and start on new grounds on a good basis for
the rest of the season.

I hope you will always be there for Justine, for Filderstadt, to help her
quality for the Masters, and future tournaments too. I hope to speak to you
after the Masters, and maybe we can speak about the semi-finals, the final or
even the tournament win; why not?
