Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Andre Agassi's sore back has forced him
to withdraw from another tournament.
The eight-time Grand Slam champion, who skipped Wimbledon for a second
straight year, said Friday that he will miss next week's RCA Championships
because of a sciatic nerve injury.
"It's disappointing for me not to be at the RCA Championships," Agassi
said in a release posted on the tournament's website. "I had every intention
of being there for it. As a tournament, it's achieved such status and
notoriety."
The 35-year-old Agassi had accepted a wild-card invitation from the
tournament, which he has never won.
"Our number one concern is that Andre takes a course that is good for him
and good for his recovery," said tournament director Rob MacGill.
