Man City ahead of Barcelona as Bale plans Spurs exit

Gareth Bale is considering his future at Tottenham as uncertainty surrounds
manager Harry Redknapp.

The Mirror says Spurs are desperate to keep hold of Bale and have offered him
a new contract to persuade him to commit his long term future to the club.

But Manchester City and Barcelona are both watching developments and have got
the Welsh international on their transfer hit list this summer.

City are prepared to break the bank to land Bale while Barcelona want him but
are not prepared to meet Spurs’ huge valuation.

Manchester City want to do early business with Athletic Bilbao for midfielder
Javi Martinez.

City are keen to start their summer spending with a ￡25million move for
Martinez, says the Daily Mail.

After failing to land Eden Hazard the Premier League champions are determined
not to miss out on the highly rated Martinez.

The 23-year-old starred as Athletic made it to the Europa League Final and
will be part of the Spain squad defending their European crown.

City are keen to tie up the deal before Euro 2012 kicks off on Friday but
that is thought to be optimistic.

Universidad de Chile winger Matias Rodriguez is wanted by Manchester City.

The Mirror says the Italian is looking to boost his Argentinian contingent
still further with a move for right-winger Rodriguez – the hottest star in
Chilean club football.

Mancini’s spies have teed up a - ￡7million deal for 26-year-old Rodriguez,
who helped Universidad de Chile win the Copa Sudamericana, the equivalent of
the Europa League.

The wide man would have little - problem settling in as fellow Argentines
Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta are already at the Etihad.

The Mirror says Mancini is ready to pounce should Chelsea indicate a

Luiz is also a target for Barcelona, which see him as an alternative to AC
Milan defender Thiago Silva - also wanted by Mancini.

Sportmediaset says Thiago Silva has said 'yes' to a summer switch to the Nou
Camp.

Milan have slapped a €40 million price-tag on the Brazilian - a valuation
deemed too rich by Barca. But a compromise can still be struck with the
inclusion of Thiago Alcantara in the Spanish giants' offer.

Catalan sources say Barca chiefs are already so confident of landing Thiago
Silva that new coach Tito Vilanova has begun is planning with the defender
