Solanke wins England award
Fri, 9 Jan 2015
Dominic Solanke has been named England Men's Youth Player of the Year.
The winner of the award is chosen by the coaches, and Solanke was rewarded
following an impressive 12-month period.
The 17-year-old was an integral part of the England Under-17 side that
were crowned European Champions in May, with Solanke finishing the
tournament as joint-top scorer, while he was also named UEFA's Star of
2014.
The young striker was handed his Chelsea first team debut earlier in the
season in a Champions League game against Maribor, coming on as a
second-half substitute.
He has been a regular for our Under-21s and Under-19s this season, and
scored a brace in last night's Under-21 game against Manchester City.
