切爾西門將庫爾圖瓦當選了比利時年度體育人物 (Belgian Sportsman of the
Year)，成為首位獲此殊榮的足球運動員。
這一獎項始於1967年，是比利時體壇最高榮譽。
結束了在馬德里競技的租借期，返回切爾西之後，22歲的庫爾圖瓦已為藍軍出場
18次。今年比利時實現了自2002年以後首度晉級世界盃決賽圈，庫爾圖瓦擔任國家隊
主力門將。上賽季他還幫助馬競稱冠西甲聯賽，並闖入歐冠決賽。
Courtois said: 'It's an honour to be the first footballer to win this
award. But you have to have some luck too. If there'd been a cyclist who
had won two classical races, I think I wouldn't have won the trophy.
'But I'm happy, I'm proud. Even more for my family, it's not always easy
for them - I'm often away from home, disappointed after a loss or a
difficult training session.
'I want to thank them, and all of my team-mates, managers and staff who
helped me to achieve this. You never get used to winning prizes, but this
season I want to achieve as much as possible with Chelsea. In the first
place I want to win the Premier League.'
