CECH WINS NATIONAL AWARD AGAIN

Petr Cech was named the Czech Republic's Footballer of the Year for a
seventh time on Monday.


Our goalkeeper has now won the award, decided by the Czech Football
Association, for six consecutive years. He was already the record winner
of the award having surpassed another goalkeeper, Ivor Viktor, last year.


Ahead of an international friendly with Norway tomorrow (Wednesday)
evening, when Cech is set to win his 106th cap, the 31-year-old expressed
his delight at winning the award yet again.


'It never gets boring regardless that it is for the first or seventh
time,' said Cech. 'It is always appreciation of my work and further
motivation especially as it comes from the people who follow football very
closely.


'Apart from a few exceptions I have kept my performances at the same high
level. There were matches when I made mistakes, but not many. I am going
to try hard to win it again next season.'


The Footballer of the Year is decided by the Czech Football Association
and is different from the Czech Golden Ball award which is voted for by
journalists. Cech won that for an eighth time last June.

北京時間3月4日凌晨，捷克年度最佳評選的各獎項得主新鮮出爐，切爾西門神連
續六年榮膺最佳球員，壓倒阿森納的羅西基以及弗萊堡的達里達，最佳新秀維德拉同
樣在英超（西布朗）效力。


在捷克足協舉辦的評選當中，31歲的切爾西門神再度拿到最佳球員獎項，這已經
是他第7次獲獎。該獎項於1993年創辦，此前獲獎次數最多的是內德維德(4次)。在此
次評選中位居第二及第三的分別是阿森納中場羅西基以及弗萊堡中場達里達。內德維
德、波博斯基、博格等黃金一代球員相繼退役後，切赫在捷克足球領域的地位無人能
及，完成捷克最佳球員七連莊的同時，他還在捷克體育記者協會評出的捷克金球獎評
選的近9屆8次折桂。


切赫表示：“無論是首次還是第七次獲獎，我永遠不會感到厭倦，這是對我表現
的肯定和激勵，尤其是能夠得到足球專業人士的認可。很開心，我能夠始終保持在較
高水準，當然，我也難免在某些比賽出現錯誤，幸好這種情況相對較少。那些看到我
又站在這裡趕緊換台的人們，我要提醒你們，下賽季我還會力爭再度獲獎的。”


2013年，切赫隨切爾西拿到歐羅巴聯賽冠軍，並且成為第二位代表捷克國家隊出
戰超過百場的球員，目前已經累計出場105次的切爾西門神，距離現紀錄保持者波博
斯基還有13場的差距。


在此次評選中，獲得最佳新秀的是同樣在英超效力的西布朗前鋒維德拉，榮膺最
佳教練獎項的則是3年內率比爾森勝利兩奪捷克聯賽冠軍的維爾巴，維爾巴目前是捷
克國家隊主帥，目前正率隊備戰週三與挪威的友誼賽。
